A citizen service number is required in order to receive payment (also known as a Burger Service Number.) After you’ve registered with your local municipality, you’ll be given a unique identification number.
Even if you don’t owe any taxes, you still have to do so. A person must pay taxes if they are regarded as a resident of the Netherlands and get income. Student fellowship/scholarships are considered income, even if you don’t receive any money.
