Tickets for the Amsterdam Metro
An organization known as GVB is responsible for coordinating Amsterdam’s public transit system. The underground metro system is one part of it. Trams, buses, and ferries round out the transportation options. All of these kinds of public transportation accept GVB tickets.

The Amsterdam discount card, which provides unrestricted use of the city’s public transportation system as well as discounts at museums and other tourist attractions, is highly recommended for visitors.
Hours of Operation for the Amsterdam Metro
From 6 a.m. to midnight, public transportation is available in Amsterdam. Some Metro trains, on the other hand, won’t arrive at their final destinations until far after midnight, while others will reach outlying suburbs as late as 1 am.

Tips for navigating the metro in Amsterdam
In order to avoid the crush of people at Central Station, take the Metro to Dam Square or another central location and exit at Nieuwmarkt. With fewer people around, you’ll likely get to your destination in the same amount of time as before.
Short trips should not be covered by the one-hour single-use tickets. Instead, purchase a multi-day ticket or an OV-chipcard for the duration of your trip.
When you begin a new journey, make sure to check-in. You will be fined if you are caught without a valid ticket or card.
If you don’t check out at the conclusion of your stay, you’ll be charged an additional cost. You can check out the yellow card readers if you arrive at your final destination without a ticket barrier.
